It has a relatively complex composition, a certain surface smoothness, and a large amount of impurities. Mostly used in construction, concrete, cementitious materials, road construction materials, artificial marble, cement physical performance testing materials (ie cement standard sand), etc. River sand can also be used for sand cleaning, derusting, strengthening, forming, stress relief, surface cleaning and coating of various profiles in casting, metallurgy, heat treatment, steel structure, frame structure, repair, bridge, mine and other fields.

Matters needing attention in natural sand import declaration:
At present, the legal river sand quarry in China must obtain the "river sand mining permit" issued by the water conservancy department, which specifies the construction site of the sand quarry in detail, the length, width and depth of the sand spot, and the map of the sand spot. . Due to the domestic control of sand mining, the cost of river sand mining has been increased, and some importers are currently importing river sand from Southeast Asia and other countries.


Custom classification and import tax rate of natural sand:
According to the Import and Export Tariff of the People’s Republic of China (2020) and the Import and Export Tariff Commodities and Item Notes (2017), in addition to commercially extractable metal ores are included in Chapter 26, heading 25.05 includes various Natural sea sand, lake sand, river sand or crushed stone sand (ie minerals are naturally split into fine sand particles), but excluding artificially produced (for example, crushed) sand and powder (categorized in heading 25.17 or classified according to relevant stone ).

However, this heading does not include gold ore, platinum ore, zircon sand, rutile sand, ilmenite ore, or solitary stone sand classified as thorium ore sand; these ore sands are included in Chapter 26. This heading does not yet include tar sands or tar sands (heading 27.14).
